8000 applied to be astronauts only 10 accepted and have two year training. Applications only accepted every four years.
Saw Mission Control for the Apollo missions. Ashtrays on the backs of the seats in the viewing area, where families watched.
Saw a Tom Hanks movie The Moonwalkers: a Journey with Tom Hanks, about what the landing on the moon meant. Only shows here and the uk.
Great exhibits.
Stopped and saw Erik Sunde for five minutes. Good to see him.

Headed to sweetwater tx. Freeway driving mostly. Texas morning to night.
Camped at the WASP museum fascinating history. Women's Air Support was only in existence 2 years and helped ferry planes, train pilots and test refurbed planes. Finally recognized as part of the military in 1977.

Left Sweetwater on a cold grey day 45 degrees. It was a week before the Rattlesnake Roundup. My folks caught rattlesnakes there in the 1970's.
Texas to New Mexico today.
Stopped in Albuquerque boondocking at Starr Brothers brewery.
We took the Scania mtn tram from
6500 ft at base
10300 at top
Quite a view! Thin air!
Had dinner at the brewery.
