As we meandered, I found cheap gas, 2.77/gallon. We saw this incredible bridge and wanted to drive across it. We stopped on the far side in a pull off and discovered the bridge tower has an observatory 447’ up. What a trip up! The elevator took us 440 feet in a minute. The view was spectacular!
We then toured Fort Knox, a fort built to protect Mainers from the British. It is a civil war era fort that never saw any action.
