This cottage was a wedding gift to FDR and Eleanor from Franklin's mother. Eleanor loved being on the island. They knew the townspeople and many were invited to tea and also worked on the property. This is an international park that is located in Canada and run jointly with the US National Park Service and Parks Canada. The Roosevelt family had been coming to the island since 1883 when Franklin was one year old. In 1964 it was commissioned as an international park
