Riverside International Friendship Garden
Riverside International Friendship Garden

La Crosse, WI has many beautiful artworks throughout town. Take time to visit the multiple parks along the river and through town. Traveling to the top of the mountain includes many twists and turns. Travel on the water provides another unique view of town, the swinging bridge and the lock and dam.

We visited the Friendship Garden with gardens from the sister cities to La Crosse. Seven gardens from seven cities, a couple really caught my attention. Forde, Norway is a sister city with trolls in their garden. Bantry, Ireland is also a sister city. The peonies are from the Chinese sister city, Luoyang.

We took a ride on the Split Wheel Paddle Boat. The paddles actually propel the boat! The swing bridge had to be opened for us to pass. Views of the shore, house boats, islands and sunning turtles provided a relaxing cruise where the three rivers come together. The Mississippi, Black River and La Crosse River converge at Riverside Park.
