We headed back to A’dam through Paris and had a couple hours to explore. We arrived at Gare du Nord train station and ate lunch across the street. Kaya and Eliot got to have fresh crepes. Delicious! We then walked to Sacré-Cœur. The steps took quite a while.

Eliot wanted to see the artists I said were behind Sacré-Cœur. When we walked behind and the street was full of tourist shops Eliot thought I had hoodwinked him. As we got to the corner we did find artists drawing charcoal portraits.

Eliot was thrilled! We had a gentleman draw their portrait. Eliot talked to him about the difficulty of drawing faces and how long the artist had worked in the area.

We took Uber back to where our luggage was stored and hustled to the train station. Kevin thought we had another hour, I knew we were within 10 minutes of the train leaving. Luckily, the train was delayed by 20 minutes. We had a restful ride to Amsterdam Central. After a metro ride we met up with Tom and Anat.

The trip with Eliot and Kaya was so fun. They enjoy each other’s company, they play together and entertain each other. The chances to draw at the hotel and animation academy were really a hit. The indoor/outdoor pool provided hours of fun. Disney Paris is more compact which makes it easier to get through the park. The temps were cool. We didn’t have rain and enjoyed the extra hour in the park in the morning. Both loved the thrill rides, coasters and Terror of Tower.

Our days were full and filled with excitement and laughter.
